# Post analytics for your clips in the dashboard, CLI and API

Milestone: 2026-10-29
Article published: 2026-11-01
Status: Product update

A new Analytics tab shows views, likes, comments and shares for your YouTube and TikTok posts from Starter. CLI 0.1.32 and the API read the same data.

## Which clips actually worked

Posting a batch of clips is half the job. The other half is knowing which ones people watched, so the next episode gets clipped the same way. Until now that meant opening YouTube Studio and TikTok one after the other and comparing numbers in your head.

The Social section now has an Analytics tab. Connect a YouTube channel or a TikTok account and BlitzReels imports its recent posts, so you see the whole channel in one place, including the clips you [published from BlitzReels](https://blitzreels.com/changelog/post-your-clips-from-blitzreels) and the videos you posted elsewhere.

## What the Analytics tab shows

- Totals for posts, views, comments and shares over 7, 30 or 90 days, or all time, compared with the previous period.
- Filters by network and by channel, plus Top accounts and Views by account when you run several channels.
- A list of every imported post that you can search, filter by format and sort by views, likes, comments or shares.
- A detail view for each video with its counters and a growth curve. Turn on Track stats to have BlitzReels check a video regularly, for up to 20 videos at once.
- Share as image: download a picture of your numbers in five styles, as 16:9, square or story, with an option to hide account names.

The counters are lifetime totals for each post, grouped by the day it was published. They update when BlitzReels checks the account again, so they aren’t live figures.

## Read your numbers in four steps

1. Open Social in the sidebar and connect YouTube or TikTok in Accounts.
2. Go to Analytics. If the history is still importing, the page says so and fills in as videos arrive.
3. Pick a range and a metric, then switch channels on or off to compare them.
4. Sort the post list by views to find your best clips, then open one to see how fast it grew.

A practical way to use it: after a week of clips from one podcast episode, sort by views, look at the top three and check what they have in common, such as the opening line or the guest. Then clip more of that kind of moment from the next episode with [AI clipping](https://blitzreels.com/clipping).

## The same data in the CLI, the API and MCP

Since October 29, CLI 0.1.32 reads the same posts with blitzreels analytics posts. You can filter by platform, date range, connected account or search text, and add --include-details for the full reports. blitzreels analytics post --media-id returns a single post, and blitzreels analytics refresh asks BlitzReels to collect fresh detailed reports for it.

The REST API serves the same data at GET /api/v1/analytics/posts, and the [MCP server](https://blitzreels.com/mcp) gives AI assistants a content_performance_list tool, so an agent can look at what performed before it picks the next clips. Reads use your API key’s workspace and need permission to view its media. The [CLI documentation](https://blitzreels.com/docs/cli) covers installing and signing in.

Through the API you also get reach and saves when a network returns them, and detailed reports when they exist. For YouTube these include watch time, average view duration, retention, traffic sources, and audience country, age and gender.

## Limits worth knowing

- The Analytics tab is available from Starter, inside Social, for every member of the workspace.
- Analytics covers YouTube and TikTok accounts. LinkedIn posts don’t appear there yet.
- The dashboard shows the basic counters. Detailed reports such as retention are only in the CLI, the API and MCP.
- YouTube channels connected before late October need to be reconnected before detailed reports appear.
- A standard TikTok connection gives the basic counters. Detailed TikTok reports need a TikTok Business connection with access to insights.
- Detailed reports refresh about once a day for videos published in the last 90 days, and older posts can be refreshed on request.

Your dashboard home also compares each post made with BlitzReels with your other posts at the same age. That part is covered in [the new dashboard home](https://blitzreels.com/changelog/a-home-for-your-workspace).

## Questions

### Can I see TikTok and YouTube Shorts analytics in one place?

Yes. Connect your YouTube channel and TikTok account in the Social section, and the Analytics tab shows views, likes, comments and shares for their posts side by side. It’s available from the Starter plan.

### Does BlitzReels analytics include videos I didn’t post with BlitzReels?

Yes. BlitzReels imports the recent posts of each connected account, so the tab covers your channel, including videos you uploaded elsewhere.

### Are BlitzReels post analytics in real time?

No. Each count is the post’s lifetime total at the last check, and it updates when BlitzReels checks the account again. Turn on Track stats to have a specific video checked regularly.

### How do I get post analytics from the command line?

Install BlitzReels CLI 0.1.32 or later and run blitzreels analytics posts. Add --json for scripts and --include-details for detailed reports where the network provides them.

### Does BlitzReels analytics work for LinkedIn?

Not yet. The Analytics tab and the analytics API cover YouTube and TikTok accounts; LinkedIn posts aren’t included.
