# AI Clipping: Auto Clip Long Videos Into Shorts

Automatic clipping, also called AI clipping, cuts a long video into short clips for you. In BlitzReels, you paste a link or upload a file. It transcribes the video, ranks moments by hook, payoff, clarity and context, frames them vertically and adds captions. You review and edit each clip, then export it.

The number of clips depends on the video. Clips aim for 30 to 90 seconds and can run up to 3 minutes. The ranking can't promise views.

## Sources

- Links: YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook and Google Drive.
- File uploads, including stream recordings. Twitch links aren't supported, and BlitzReels doesn't monitor live streams.
- Clip only your own videos or videos whose owner lets you clip them. Having the link doesn't give you that right.

## Output

- Captions in 35+ languages with automatic detection and protected words. BlitzReels doesn't dub clips.
- Crops 16:9 to 9:16 and follows the speaker; two people in one shot can stack in a split screen. Also exports 16:9 and 1:1.
- Every clip opens on a timeline for caption, trim and crop edits before export.
- Post to YouTube, TikTok and LinkedIn from Starter; schedule from Growth. Instagram access is allowlisted.

## Price

- Trial: 7 days, no card, one video of up to 60 source minutes, 3 clips, 3 watermarked 720p exports of up to 3 minutes each, and 10 AI credits.
- Starter: $29 a month, or $17 a month billed yearly, with 250 credits and exports up to 4K with no watermark.
- Credits: a linked source uses 1 credit a minute, an upload uses 0.5, and exports use 3 credits per started minute. A 60-minute linked video with 10 one-minute clips uses 90 credits, about $10 on Starter.
- BlitzReels costs more than some rivals, and there is no free plan after the trial. It also has no desktop app and no dubbing.
