Keep working on the framing as a video moves. Animated crop keyframes let you adjust which part of a landscape recording appears in a vertical clip.

## A good frame can change mid-clip

A crop that looks right at the start can miss the action when someone moves or the shot changes. We added animated crop keyframes, so the visible part of the source video can change over time in a vertical edit.

The issue is easy to see in a landscape recording: there is more happening across the frame than a portrait crop can show at once. A useful crop needs a way to change during the clip, so a decision made on the first frame doesn’t have to determine every frame that follows.

## Adjust the movement in the editor

The crop controls connect to the video composition, selection tools, and keyframe editing, giving you a way to inspect and refine the framing. This work later supported clipping layouts that take the content of the shot into account, beyond a fixed crop down the middle.

For your edit, that means looking at the sequence as movement rather than checking one still image. You can inspect where the crop begins, how it changes, and whether the important part of the shot stays in view, then refine the keyframes where the framing needs attention.
